The ambulance and rescue team of the Ras Al Khaimah Police has rescued three children from drowning off the beach near the Saudi Institute.
Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director-general of the central operations room, RAK Police, said the three siblings were dragged into the sea because of the rough and high waves.
"The Asian children, aged 5, 6 and 7, were playing when they were dragged deep into the sea by the strong waves."
The central operations room of the RAK Police, having been alerted of the collision, dispatched ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site.
"We have been alerted that three children were drowning in the sea, and the rescue teams reached the site within minutes and managed to rescue them with the help of the residents."
The drank a lot of seawater as they didn't know swimming, he said.
"The children were given first aid on the beach, and then shifted to the hospital."
The medical condition of two children was fine, but one needed more attention at the hospital, Brig. Humaidi said.
"All sea goers need to be careful, particularly if they do not have swimming skills," he said. "Life jacket is mandatory and young children should never be left unattended in the sea," Humaidi added.
