A new online platform will enable government entities to discover talents among employees and place them in the right job that matches their skills.
On Tuesday, Smart Dubai launched Fajwa (meaning Gap in Arabic) to enable Dubai Police discover variety of skills among employees, display vacant positions and skills required to fill these positions.
Dr Aisha Bin Bishr, director-general of the Smart Dubai Office, said the platform will expand to include other government entities by end of this year. On the sidelines of Gitex Technology week, she said the initiative is in line with the government's vision to invest in the human capital.
"The platform will enable department heads and managers to track employee productivity and the extent to which their skills match their current position or another vacant position. This will enable managers to direct talents to the right field and, therefore, increase employee happiness."
She added the online platform, which includes employees' profiles among other data, will display whether employees have enough training, courses and experience to perform best at their position.
"The platform will also help with the employee rotation process across different sections to help place employees at the right position that matches their skills and experience," said Bin Bishr, noting the platform is ready and will be scaled out across organisations in Dubai.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai, said Fajwa will help him and department heads tackle strengths and weaknesses of every employee to guide them towards achieving the best of their abilities.
"It will help us understand our employees better, and I hope we receive a positive response through it," said Al Merri.
