The electricity and water authority in the emirate has opened a new facility at Al Nasseriya area in Sharjah to provide 24-hour services to its customers, seven days a week.
The centre's main task is to respond quickly to power or water connection issues in the 40 areas of the city, which is densely populated and has high water and power consumption rates.
Speaking to Khaleej Times on the sideline of the opening of the new maintenance centre, Dr Rashid Alleem, Chairman of Sewa, said that the centre has been providing customer services on receiving complaints, but as part of the development projects, Sewa has decided to include maintenance services.
He added that centre has been developed to best serve people with special needs and their complaints will be handled in two minutes.
Mohammed Abdullah, Director of the Distinction Department at Sewa, said that consumers can also make bill payments at the facility from 8am to 8pm everyday.
Meanwhile, the officials at the Al Nasiriya centre said that the development project would end the issue of power outages in all areas.
They urged consumers to complain about any issues in their residences or offices and the technical staff will response quickly to solve the issue. Sewa is working on improving the standards of its maintenance centres and customer services across the emirate.
The centres will be equipped with advance system and equipment, as well as technical cadres and qualified engineers to be able to respond quickly and effectively to energy and water issues.
