Dubai - The emirate will see an intensified police presence and patrolling starting today. According to Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief of the Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, the Dubai Police will intensify police presence and will deploy 403 police patrols and 216 civil police patrols across the emirate to ensure safety of residents during Eid holidays.
Al Mansouri said shopping malls and other places frequented by people will be under police protection. He pointed out that the police force, including directors of police stations and other staff, will be available in their offices during the holidays. Complaints from the residents regarding accidents and traffic congestion will be addressed in a timely manner. Patrolling teams will be dispatched to beaches and parks to prevent any untoward incident and violations of law.
Al Mansouri urged all residents and visitors to Dubai to abide by the UAE laws. He warned residents against leaving their homes unattended while on vacation or join home safety programmes to ensure safety.
He called on beach-goers not to carry valuables with them when they go for swimming, and parents to take care of their children. The motorists were also urged not to leave the car keys with strangers to avoid theft. - amira@khaleejtimes.com
