The Holy Quran cased in a tiny gold case is 2.3cm long, 1.5cm wide and 0.5cm thick is about 100 years old, said Mr Pal. "I do not know the whereabouts of its origin and neither its date of printing, but on the basis of views expressed by dealers of antiques and rare items, this priceless copy of the Holy Quran is centuries old."

It is perhaps the tiniest copy of the Holy book in the world, added Mr Pal who is currently residing in Trichur, but, has sent the book over to Dubai through a friend for interested buyers and antique collectors in the region to view it.

It has a fine Arabic print with a very good binding.

Pal, a former state forest official in Trichur, Kerala, has a good collection of old and rare coins in his possession.

This book was presented to him by an Arab some 35 years ago. Although he had declined offers in the past from some antique collectors who had approached him with offers to purchase, now due to financial reasons, Mr Pal now has expressed his keeness to sell it to interested dealers or collectors in the region.

He can be contacted on email address runbox2001@yahoo.co.in for more details.
