A 3-year-old Pakistani toddler succumbed to fatal injuries she received after her head rammed into the dashboard of the car her father was driving. The incident took place at the Jazirat Al Hamra road in Ras Al Khaimah on Friday.
Informed sources said the little girl, identified as Unabia Kamran, was sitting in the front seat on her mother's lap.
The father suddenly pressed the brakes, pushing the child forward. The impact threw the baby out of the mother's arms, hitting her head on the dashboard.
With the sudden impact, the child sustained serious injuries on her head and bled excessively.
Though the paramedics and rescue teams tried hard to resuscitate the toddler, she could not make it and was declared dead a day later, on June 29.
As per the Federal Traffic laws, children up to four years of age must be provided with a child safety seat.
The front seat passenger should also be at least 145cm tall and not younger than 10 years old. Violators are liable to pay a fine of Dh400 and four black points.
