A driver, who was caught transporting diesel illegally, stood trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday.
Prosecutors accused the 25-year-old Pakistani driver of transporting 60 gallons of the hazardous material without the necessary permit, breaching the public safety regulations.
The incident that took place on August 29 was reported to Jebel Ali police station.
The defendant was caught at 3 am at a rest stop on Sheikh Zayed Road moving diesel to another vehicle without any licence. A court ruling will be pronounced on November 22.
