A 29-year-old man, who admitted to police officers, he had sex with 300 'clients', was sentenced to 3 years in jail on prostitution and immoral acts counts.
The Moroccan earlier admitted in the Court of First Instance to charges of prostitution and inciting others through his different social media accounts to have sex with him by posting pictures of nude women and cross -dressers.
The accused also confessed he opened several social media accounts to incite men into having sex with him.
The court ordered his deportation after serving his prison term and paying a Dh250,000 fine.
"While checking different accounts on social media, we came across an ad posted by a 25-year-old Moroccan. He was offering his services in massage, hair removal and cleaning at home or hotel. He posted his mobile number for WhatsApp messenger. There were inappropriate pictures of women and cross-dressers all over his account. His ad invited many replies," a cyber -crime police lieutenant said.
"By tracking that user further, we found he had opened other accounts on other applications like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, for the same purpose which is inciting immoral acts".
After further digging into his profiles, the police found he was offering his sexual services for money. "We had arranged for an arrest and search warrant from public prosecution. One of our officers made contact with him as a potential customer. They agreed to have sex for Dh 1,200," the lieutenant added.
The arrest was made on December 13, last year. A lipstick, eyeliner and a phone, which he used to promote his work, were seized from him.
A complaint was opened against him at Al Rashidiyah police station.
The accused admitted then to the police officers he was working as a male prostitute and that he had sex with about 300 men. He would collect between Dh 1,000 and Dh1,500.
Copies of posts from the defendant's accounts were enclosed as part of the case.
The court ruling is still subject to appeal.
