A massive fire broke out in a blue luxury car at Al Beeh Valley in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday morning.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Official sources with the RAK civil defence said the car caught fire all of a sudden for no apparent reason.
"The flames first started in the engine located at the rear part of the car, and spread to other parts. The blaze quickly engulfed the entire vehicle."
On being alerted of the fire, the central operations room of the RAK Police immediately dispatched firefighters, an ambulance, paramedics and rescue teams to the site.
"Firefighters managed to put out the fire without any human casualties," civil defence sources said. "They then cooled down the car, mainly the rear part, to prevent the fire from triggering again."
"All drivers need to get regular maintenance service done on their cars, particularly in the summer - due to the scorching temperature - to plug any possible fuel or oil leaks, which mostly cause of such fires."
"The case has been referred to the bodies concerned to identify the reason behind the blaze," they said, adding that several car fires have been recently reported in Ras Al Khaimah.
