Have some work at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) or the Dubai Electricty and Water Authority (Dewa)?
The only way to get it done is online. Starting tomorrow, 100 service centres of 40 government, semi-government and private entities will remain shut for a week. Over 1,100 services will be available online only till October 25.
The idea is to get residents to turn to smart channels instead of manned service centres to avail of and complete services and transactions. This year's online-only drive goes one step further from last year's 'a day without service centres' by extending its run for a full week.
The Dubai Police, municipality, civil defence, health authority, RTA, Dewa, Department of Economic Development and Dubai Islamic Bank are among the 40 entities that have signed up for the digital transformation drive.
"Dubai will see a full transformation of government services to smart channels as part of the initiative, as the Dubai Government seeks to make residents happier by providing personalised, smart and high quality services," the Department of Finance, which is leading the initiative, said in a statement.
