The announcement was made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, while chairing the first Cabinet meeting of the year on Monday.
Sheikh Mohammed said the first- of-its-kind visa is aimed at establishing the UAE as a major ‘global tourism destination’ and preparing the country for the next 50 years. At present, he said, the nation welcomes about 21 million visitors each year.

10-year Golden Residence Permit visa for investors with a deposit, an established company, business partnership of Dh10 million or more.
Five-year long-term visa for qualified individuals like scientists and entrepreneurs.
One-year residency visa extension for women without the need for a sponsor after the death of spouse or divorce.
Renewal of visit visa for a month without the need to leave the country.
One-year residency visa that can be renewed for another year for children finishing high school or those turning 18 years of age.
