Hundreds of car aficionados in Dubai gathered on Saturday to marvel at the most stunning collection of Ferrari supercars ever displayed in the Middle East. Owners of the Italian cars lined the road at City Walk to celebrate the upcoming Dubai Motor Festival (DMF).
The gathering was a forerunner to the formal launch of DMF 2015.
Dubai Motor Festival Director, Jin Chwen Ong said: "The Ferrari gathering provided the perfect precursor to the excitement that lies ahead in the 3rd edition of Dubai Motor Festival including the Dubai Grand Parade, Marques D'Elegance and Best Decorated National Day car competition."
A huge number of residents and tourists posed for pictures with the cars. Twelve-year old Valentine from France was spotted posing with the Ferraris along with her eight-year old sister Gwendoline and their friend, 11-year old Maxine. "We came to City Walk with our parents just for this Ferrari show. We love these cars and they look even more beautiful parked all in a row. This is something that we will not forget".
Fethi, also from France, had brought his family to City Walk after hearing about the Ferrari gathering. His children, seven-year-old Feriel and her six-year-old brother, Haroun were busy taking photographs with their tablet.
"This is a magnificent spectacle. My son loves the Ferrari, so we just could not afford to miss this gathering, said Fethi, and added in lighter vein: "Today Haroun and Feriel are on a mission, as reporters. They are supposed to take some good photos and report back to us on what they saw".
Jude Melli is an ardent Ferrari fan, and not surprisingly so, as his father owns one of them.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our car and also have a good look at all the other models on show. We are excited to participate in this Dubai Motor Festival event. It's really a great feeling to be out here with the Ferraris," said Jude, a Syrian national.
DMF will be held from November 10 - 21.
