An Emirati woman died on spot and her three children injured in an accident happened at Digdaga area in the emirate.
The 42-year-old victim was at the wheels of the ill-fated 4WD car and the children, who received several injuries, were at the back seat.
Major Salem Abu Riqibah, Acting Chief of Al Digdaga Police Station, said the woman lost control over the steering wheel, after which the vehicle flipped over several times, damaging the car entirely.
"The woman, identified only as M.M.S., received serious injuries and died on the spot whereas her three children; S.R.S, 6, F.R.S., 4, and M.R.S, 15, sustained several injuries."
Later, the relatives collected the body of the woman from the hospital for burial.
Abu Riqibah urged motorists "to observe speed limit on all roads, and avoid those without enough light to steer away from accident."
Initial evaluation of the accident showed that the woman was driving her SUV car at a high speed, he said. "What makes the situation worse was the insufficient light on the road."
Official records show that speeding was blamed for the death of 55 people who were killed on the roads and highways of Ras Al Khaimah last year.
Up to 322 accidents occurred in 2015 against 258 in 2014 - 64 more, and these ended in minor, to moderate and serious injuries.
