A 43-year-old Emirati drowned off Sharjah's Al Khan Beach after his boat capsized. The man was out on a fishing trip when the boat developed a technical glitch and capsized, the police said.
The police were notified about the incident at 7:00am on Tuesday. A team of police officers, paramedics and rescue officials rushed to the site and recovered the body. The body has been shifted to the mortuary at Al Kuwaiti Hospital for an autopsy.
In another incident, a fisherman was rescued after his boat capsized off the Sharjah coast. He is currently recuperating at Al Qasimi Hospital.
Al Buhairah Police Station is probing both incidents.
