Parking will be free in Ajman during the Eid Al Adha holidays, the emirate's Municipality and Planning Department has announced.
Motorists will be able to use all paid parking areas for free from tomorrow, July 30, until Sunday, August 2, according to a report in the Arabic daily Emarat Al Youm. Fees will be reactivated on Monday.
Similar free parking announcements were made earlier for other parts of the country, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
The Ajman municipality assured that it is fully prepared for the upcoming holidays, with safety measures implemented across the country. Inspectors will be roaming around to check compliance at food and health establishments, which usually see a surge in customers during Eid.
The authorities will also be monitoring residents' adherence to anti-Covid-19 measures, such as wearing masks, physical distancing, and avoiding gatherings. Fines have been set for violations.
