Even as the country continues to grieve the tragic death of Lieutenant-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, these heartwarming final words will fill you with patriotism. The Police Chief passed away last week on November 24 after a heart attack.
In a video released by Dubai Police, Al Mazeina lauds the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the country. The clip was filmed just two days before his demise.
He begins with thanking the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for marking November 30 as Commemoration day to remember the contributions of the nation's martyrs.
"They will always remain in the memory of generations, and they will be immortal in the minds of the UAE people. We want our homeland to be on the top and make their sacrifices count. Our country is driven by unity, integration, dedication, sincerity and loyalty," he said.
As his closing words, Al Mazeina said, "May god have mercy on the departed souls. May Allah rest them in peace in paradise."
