RTA's Licensing Agency has recently organised a series of campaigns on highways to monitor the performance of driving centers, verify their compliance with the requirement of highway training, and ensure that trainees have passed their trial tests before moving on to training on highway.
Mohammed Nabhan, Director of the Monitoring & Enforcement at RTA's Licensing Agency, said: "The inspection campaign signals RTA's keen attention to ensure the compliance of driving centers with the laws, regulations and the approved syllabus."
"A team has been dedicated by the Department to carry out wide-ranging inspection campaigns on highways in Dubai emirate in order to realize RTA's vision of "Safe and Smooth Transport for All."
These campaigns intend to verify instructors' compliance with the approved training policies, modules, and sessions as well as theoretical and practical training hours, besides ensuring that such data is registered in the training session records. The campaigns aim to raise the awareness of driving centers about RTA-approved policies and legislations and the need to comply with them in the public interest. Four inspection campaigns were conducted in 2016 (on a quarterly basis) where 1645 violations had been reported," added Nabhan.

"These inspection campaigns significantly contribute to detecting mistakes made during training sessions and redressing them by drafting corrective action plans. The previous campaigns have yielded positive results such as improving the online linking between driving institutes and RTA's licensing systems such that they can be verified online. Such a practice saves time & effort and accelerates the retrieval of required data from driving institutes," elaborated Nabhan.
With respect to the recent inspection campaign, the Agency will consider deploying training vehicles on highways or affixing a sticker on them. RTA will also consider installing tracking systems in training centers to facilitate the inspection & monitoring process and spot violating instructors.
