A 70-year-old woman who suffered cardiac arrest has been rescued in Dubai, thanks to the rapid response of the emirate's ambulance team.
As soon as they received the report about the woman, the ambulance rushed to Al Hadayeq area and reached her place within five minutes, according to an Emarat Al Youm report.
Khaula Ismael, Mariam Khamis and De Nis of the medical team found her looking "very weak", the report said. She couldn't talk or move.
An examination revealed that she had a clot that caused her heart to stop beating. It was a dangerous condition that could have been fatal, they said.
The medical team immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and moved her to the ambulance so they could take her to the nearest hospital.
However, as the team continued life support procedures on their way to the hospital - the woman's heart started beating again. She also regained consciousness.
Khalifa bin Dari, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, honoured the team for their rescue efforts.
