Competent preachers of the Islamic Information Centre (IIC), a leading division of Dar Al Ber Society (DABS), have helped 442 residents from different nationalities convert to Islam in April and May this year.
However, most of the fresh men and women converts were hailing from the Philippines, according to Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society.
"The Centre also distributed 149,771 books in the last two months, and organised 676 lectures and lessons on Islamic, social, and contemporary topics, let alone the intensive new Muslims course, and 32 diverse activities."
Rashid Al Junaibi, Manager of the Islamic Information Centre, said they, meanwhile, posted 252 tweets on the Centre's official twitter account on charity, humanitarian, national and community issues. "We also uploaded 93 relevant posts on our Facebook account."
The Centre also managed to collect Dh270,711 as contributions from philanthropists here in support to the planned and ongoing activities and programmes, he stated.
"The Centre, in collaboration with philanthropists here, runs a variety of activities, services and courses to new Muslims and foreign community children in the most tolerant and attractive way as advised in the holy Quran."
Almighty Allah in Verse 125/16 said: 'Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best', he pointed out. "Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was reported as saying: 'By Allah, if a single person is guided by Allah through you, it will be better for you than a whole lot of red camels."
Staff scholars and preachers are more than ready to welcome visitors every day and answer their questions on the teachings of Islam and the biography of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he affirmed.
"They also distribute simplified books, cassettes, CDs on Islam, Quran, Sunnah, and Arabic language to visitors, non-Muslims, and fresh Muslims, and run advanced courses for prospective scholars."
