Parks in Sharjah will remain closed for the time being to carry out sterilisation as well as maintenance works, the Sharjah Municipality announced.

The municipality said this is in line with the measures being taken in Sharjah to combat the Covid-19 coronavirus.

"Public parks will remain closed in the time being in order to carry out the maintenance and sterilisation operations required to safeguard the public health and safety," the municipality said.

"This decision comes in line with the precautionary measures being taken in the Emirate of Sharjah to contain the spread of the Covid-19. The municipality appreciates the commitment of the community members to the instructions issued by the competent authorities and to staying at home," the municipality added.
