An 32-year-old Asian man was killed in the aftermath of a two truckcollision in Ras Al Khaimah.
The first truck rammed into the vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Asian driver.
Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of the Central Operations Department of RAK Police, said the crash was due to speedy overtaking and a failure to observe the appropriate distance between vehicles.
The Central Operations Room of RAK Police dispatched traffic patrol cars, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site.
Lt Col Rashid Salem Al Zaabi, Chief of the Daqdaqa police station, said the first driver immediately succumbed to his injuries, whilst "the other driver sustained serious injuries as well as excessive blood loss.
"The injured driver was rushed to the hospital for treatment and medical care, whereas the deceased driver was transferred to the hospital morgue."
Al Humaidi stressed, "All drivers need to observe all traffic rules and regulations, mainly speed limit and safety space."
The accident file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal procedures.
