Al Majaz area 3 in Sharjah will be a pre-paid parking zone from Saturday. Atif Al Zarouni, director of the public parking at Sharjah Municipality, said new areas have been added to provide parking for residents and visitors of the areas and preventing misuse of parking lots by vehicle owners.
He said the meters are now installed on Arab Club street, Hassan bin Thabit Street, Street No 3 and in front of Salma bin Aqwah Mosque. "The main reason for launching paid parking is to meet the demands for public paid parking and provide better services," he said.
Al Zaouni said the municipality aims to solve the problem of lack of parking space.
