Abattoirs and slaughtering houses in Sharjah are all set to receive animals for sacrifices during Eid Al Adha.
The veterinary sections in coordination with the Ministry of Environment are checking all the animals entering the country through Sharjah ports to ensure they are healthy. Veterinarians will also check on the animals before slaughtering to ensure they are free of disease.
Dr. Rasha Al Qasimi, director of Health Department at Sharjah Municipality said the abattoirs are now ready for providing slaughtering services during Eid based on quality standards and health conditions set by the civic body.
As many as 150 workers from the municipality will help customers unload animals to the abattoirs to ensure smooth movement inside and outside.
She added that all equipment used for the slaughtering of animals have been tested for hygiene. The public are urged to call 993 for any complaints or enquiries about the abattoirs.
