Four people were killed and 11 were injured in a traffic accident on Emirates Road between a heavy truck and a bus transporting workers on Saturday.
The driver was trying to pullover his truck, which broke down on the third lane of Al Nahda bridge when the bus rammed into the vehicle, according to the Dubai Police.
The accident was reported at the police operations room at 7.10pm, said Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director of Dubai Traffic Police.
"Four people lost their lives while 11 were injured. Of the injured, one person's condition is severe, two others suffered moderate injuries while eight of them sustained minor abrasions," he said.
"Traffic patrols rushed to the scene and facilitated the transfer of the injured to Rashid Hospital," added Brig Al Mazrouei.
He urged members of the public to adhere to the legal speed limits and to avoid distractions while on the road.
