The Ajman Police have arrested three Emiratis for a spate of robberies from shops in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah
According to Colonel Khalid Mohamed Al Nuaimi, Director of the external areas in Ajman, the police analysed the crime and found that a similar modus operandi was used in each case.
He said that following various robbery notifications of various shops particularity Al Manama area and it was noticed that all the shops were robbed using the same modus operandi .
Police launched a probe to investigate the robbery cases and collect finger prints from the robbed shops and investigations revealed the identity of the suspects
"It was found out that two suspects aged 20 and 19 were brothers and are residing in Abu Dhabi and in collaboration with Abu Dhabi police, the two suspects were arrested while investigations revealed that the third suspect aged 25 who resides in Um Al Quwain and went to visit his friends in Khorfakhan. The other suspect was arrested in collaboration with Sharjah police.
Colonel Al Nuaimi noted that the homes of the suspects were raided and various robbed products were found including 11 mobile phones, Dhs 20,000 and a drug injection.
During interrogation , the trio confessed robbing various shops and are currently detained and will be referred to the public prosecution.
The police official urged owners of commercial outlets to strictly implement safety and security rules in their outlets and they should install surveillance camera or robbery alarms to ensure their shops are not an easy target to burglars and to avoid financial losses incurred in the robbery.
