Two people were killed and five seriously injured when a four-wheel drive veered off the Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road and ploughed into a group of people offering Maghreb prayers.
The accident, the second fatal one this weekend, took place just before the flyover bordering Dubai and Sharjah.

The Dubai Police said the accident occurred when the Asian driver lost control of the vehicle after a tyre burst, veered off the road towards Sharjah and crashed into the group of people offering prayers near the road. Two people died on the spot and the injured were rushed by the police air wing to the Rashid Hospital for treatment. The driver is being held for interrogation.
