Starting April, you can no longer pay your traffic fines or request accident reports at Dubai Police's customer centres - you will have to do it via e-platforms and smart applications. These are part of the eight traffic-related services that the Dubai Police will be moving to their digital platforms next month, officials announced on Sunday.

Among the services that will no longer be available at the police's customer service centres are payment of traffic violations; filing a request to convert payments into installments; issuance of reports on traffic accidents without injuries; issuance of lost traffic accident reports; issuance of traffic status certificates; issuance of traffic accident reports against an unknown person; issuance of traffic clearance certificates; and issuance of a list of traffic violations.
The new policy was announced at a Press conference that was held on Sunday at the General Department of Traffic of the Dubai Police. It was attended by Brig Sheikh Abdullah Al Mualla, director of the general department of excellence and entrepreneurship; Brig Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi, director-general of artificial intelligence; and a number of senior officers.
Brig Al Razzouqi clarified that payments can also be made at money exchange centres and all other services will be available online or at smart kiosks set up in malls and other areas across the country.
He noted that last year, over 80 per cent of services were provided via electronic platforms and a total of two million transactions were done online.
The Dubai Police are also ready to extend assistance to those who may need help in using the smart platforms. Staff members will be present at the kiosks and the centres to guide customers through the process.
By July this year, the next phase of the smart transformation shall be implemented and four more services will be added to the list, said Col Juma Bin Suwaidan, deputy director of the General Department of Traffic.
These include payments for vehicle confiscation penalties and filing a request to pay traffic violation installments through cheques.
