His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the payment of a bonus amounting to Dh33.285 million to Emirati citizens whose taxi number plates are operated by the Dubai Taxi Corporation and Taxi Franchise Companies at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The total number of the number plates is 6,657.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA thanked Sheikh Mohammed for rewarding taxi plate owners, who are part of the fixed income group, and enabling them to better cope with the requirements of life and decent living for them and their families.
"This bonus is one of several other generous gestures we are accustomed to from His Highness that are a true testament to the support accorded by Sheikh Mohammed to his people and the attention he pays to their social affairs and living conditions, particularly those with fixed incomes.
"It also coincides with the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, illustrating his keenness to provide good living to all members of the community, and to articulate the prevailing social solidarity concepts among individuals," added Al Tayer.
