Dubai- Dubai Tram resumed service at 10:10 am after being non- operational for some time due to a massive fire that broke out in Dubai Marina. Road and Transport Authority (RTA) said that the services were disrupted as a precautionary measure and no damage took place to any of the properties. The tram remained operational in five stations- Al Sufoh, Knowledge Village, JBR1, Dubai Marina, and Palm Jumeirah.
RTA had provided free shuttle service for passengers to travel between affected stations- Mina Seyahi and Dubai Marina Towers.
“Large amounts of debris had fallen on the tram tracks, halting normal operations. It would take a couple of hours to clean it up,” said Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication, RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
She stated that authorities are working hard to clean up the fire debris and services will resume shortly.
