Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of the General Directorate of Traffic in Dubai Police, said that the Dubai traffic department is committed to control traffic flow while ensuring the safety of road users in the holy month. The department will facilitate the movement of worshippers at the entry and exit points of mosques.
He pointed out that the department has intensified traffic patrols, especially during prayer times. "Enforcement officers are cracking down on motorists who commit offences that undermine road safety," he added.
Brig. Al Mazroui said that car drivers should not hurry to make it for Iftar, adding that the police patrols will distribute iftar meals to motorists, workers and needy people at sunset before Al-Maghrib prayer.
He also asked drivers to avoid indiscriminate parking of vehicles, especially in front of mosques, and help others enjoy their rituals during the holy month.
Brigadier Al Mazroui appealed to drivers and the people to cooperate with the police in ensuring traffic safety, while encouraging people to report any traffic violations.
