Abu Dhabi — Electronics giant Sony plans to secure a “sizeable share” of the top-end headphones market by launching latest audio devices in key international destinations like Dubai, according to senior officials.
The Japanese firm launched two headphones priced above $300 at its new Dubai showroom and expects good feedback from the tech-savvy population in the emirate.
“For those passionate about music, Sony’s High-Resolution Audio products truly raise the bar,” said Satoru Arai, head of Sony Middle East Marketing Company.
The market size in UAE for headphones above the $300 segment is estimated at 750,000 in 2014 and it is expected to grow by 15 per cent this year, according to latest industry data.
