The Bangladesh Business Council of Dubai (BBC) functions under the auspices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The BBC represents Bangladeshi business interests in Dubai and the Northern Emirates while maintaining strong ties with the leadership of the communities in which its members live and work. An organisation that brings together like-minded Bangladeshi business people in Dubai, with a common goal and vision to protect the interests of Bangladeshi businesses in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, through harnessing individual and collective capacities to advance interests both within and outside Dubai.
The council comprises members from all sectors of business and industry who elect a board of directors annually. This board of directors is responsible for the strategic vision of the organisation and for assuring strong alliances with Bangladeshi and UAE government officials, giving a greater voice to the membership-at-large.
The BBC holds monthly meetings, luncheons and events, allowing for networking and collaboration among members, as well as providing valuable information.Â
History
The BBC was formed on October 17, 2011, in Dubai with the authorisation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and the issuance of a permit from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Bangladesh Business Council is associated with the Bangladesh Consulate General, Dubai and the Embassy of Bangladesh in the UAE, to increase the import of various products from Bangladesh into the UAE and to re-export the same to the Middle Eastern and African countries. Currently, it is headed by Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman who is the Founder and President.
The BBC believes in working together to achieve more, and we believe in developing strong, mutually beneficial relationships between the Bangladeshi business community and the local communities within which it operates. To this end, it engages with regulatory bodies, and non-profit bodies, such as the Government of Dubai, Department of Economic Development - Dubai, and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, on issues that are pertinent to its operations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. It also engages with government and non-government organisations from Bangladesh in order to explore opportunities for mutually beneficial relationships.

Our organisation is proud to be a competent force within the Bangladeshi business community and within Dubai. All this would not have been possible without the active participation of our esteemed members, and the support of the Bangladeshi business community.
