UAE's Mohammed Balooshi, one the most successful Emirati dirt riders of all time, gained rhythm and made an impressive recovery on the second day of Oilibya Rally Morocco, a Press release said.
He ended the day in 12th position on special stage's results. He managed to keep a fast pace throughout the day with a sustained rhythm that helped him reach every PC (Passage control) in constant position, without losing space to other riders.
After having a tough start yesterday during leg 1 where he suffered all day long from lack of visibility, Balooshi managed to find his way back. He pushed hard enough to get himself close to the top 10 in the leg's results.
"We had a very difficult stage once again but it was lot more enjoyable than yesterday. Today's visibility was poor but yesterday it was worse because I had tons of dust coming inside my goggles," he said.
"I couldn't literally see a thing! Today we could correct the problem and even though there was still much dust in the air, my riding conditions improved a lot and allowed me to gain rhythm and climb a few very valuable positions."
The Oilibya Rally Morocco, which is the final round of the FIM Cross Country Rally Championship, will continue on Friday.
"This is a cross-country rally, the toughest and most challenging sport of the two wheels and here things are real tough. Some days you're down and some days you are up. At this race in Morocco we have the highest number of factory bikes of the entire championship.
"I am very lucky and proud of having the chance to fight positions with some of them," Balooshi said.
Day 3 of Oilibya Rally Morocco will complete 470 kilometers of mainly fast tracks in the M'hamid's Loop. The full camp moves to the west to the outskirts of Agadir for the final two days.
