UAE golf teams were in spectacular form winning gold medals in all three team divisions of the GCC Golf Championships held at Ghala Golf Club, Muscat Oman.

Players from five GCC countries including Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE competed for honours in the prestigious tournament.

This was the sixth edition of the Ladies’ GCC Cup and the seventh edition of the 16 & Under and 13 & Under Divisions.

The gold medal-winning UAE ladies' National team was represented by Intissar Rich, Alia Alemadi, and Aasiya Saleem.

In addition. Intissar won the Ladies’ title with a four-under-par score of 212 in the 54-hole event. She produced a brilliant final round of 67, with nines of 32 and 35 that included seven birdies in total. Her teammate Alia Al Emadi finished third and Aasiya Saleem a place back in fourth.

The triumphant UAE Junior Boys 16 & Under Team consisted of Rashid Al Naqbi, Abdullah Kalbat, and Mohammad Thabet.

The Individual trophy was won by Jordan’s Salem Alabkal on 16 over. The UAE’s Rashid Al Naqbi secured the second place while teammate Mohammed Thabet was fourth with Abdula Kalbat in fifth place.

In the 36-hole 13 & Under Division, the UAE Team that struck gold featured Abdulla Darwish and Abdulla Salmeen.

Darwish claimed the coveted Individual Gold Medal as well with rounds of 79 and 80.

General Abdullah Alhashmi, Emirates Golf Federation, Vice-Chairman, commented, “Congratulations to all the UAE golfers and teams for their outstanding performances here in the GCC Golf Championships in Oman.

“Over the past 18 months, the EGF has diligently worked to provide UAE players with the platform to exhibit their talents. These dedicated individuals have undergone rigorous training, and it is rewarding to see this progress and positive results.”

Travelling with the teams were General Alhashmi, Khaled Al Shamsi, and Fayez Bajbouj, along with National Team Coaches Samir Walline and April Varney.
