IPL team Delhi Capitals on Friday said their players will don jerseys bearing the message "Thank You COVID Warriors" during the entire tournament in UAE, calling the initiative a "small token of gratitude" towards the frontline workers fighting the pandemic.
IPL starts on Saturday in Abu Dhabi with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi.
Whatever we do for our COVID Warriors is not going to be comparable in any way to what they've done for society ????"...the Delhi Capitals official match jersey will bear the 'Thank You COVID Warrior' message for the entire duration of this season," the franchise said in a statement.
