A prank in which mischievous Chinese shoppers pretend to run away with expensive jewellery while creating panic among the sales staff has taken over the social media and gone viral.
The video - that has been taken off now - shows 'potential buyers' trying on necklaces and bracelets at a jewellery store before they suddenly run towards the exit, said a report in Daily Mail.
The shop assistants give them a chase, as the pranksters stop near the door as if they did nothing.
The clips became a huge hit on short video app Tik Tok - known as Dou Yin in China - early this month.
A similar prank was performed by Malaysian influencer Harvinth Skin in November. It attracted more than one million views on Instagram.
In the clip, Skin can be seen trying on a pair of new trainers at a JD Sports store. Much to the amazement of the staff, he runs out of the shop and then sprints back into it - to make it appear that he was just testing the outfit.
Netizens have commended the apt response of the shop staff in both the videos.
"Those employees move like ninjas," one person commented. "They're so swift and agile," another user said.
