Two immigration centres’ working hours extended for Ramadan

Dubai immigration authorities announced on Monday that their working hours will be extended till 2am at two external centres for Ramadan.

The immigration offices at Al Twar Centre and Al Manara Centre will stay open from 10pm to 2am till Thursday.

Major-General Mohammed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, said residents and visitors may also call the immigration toll free number 8005111 all the week and round the clock if they have any inquiries. Emergency applications may be submitted on the weekend also.

The immigration office at terminal-3 of the Dubai International Airport will remain open round the clock during the Eid Al Fitr holiday.

Maj-Gen Al Marri said the immigration offices are open from 9am to 6pm every day in Ramadan.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai office at the Dubai International Airport is open round the clock.

The Dubai immigration authorities have recently announced an increase in the number of the transactions and projects accomplished over the first half of the year 2014.

Staffers processed 31,032,662 transactions this year, compared to 21,865,088 over the same period last year. The 8.88 per cent spike is attributed to the ongoing economic boom.

Companies recruiting over 100 employees can renew the latter’s residence visas online through the immigration authorities’ official website.

The first six months of the year saw nearly 3000,000 such transactions.
