Four members of a family were killed and three others sustained serious to moderate injuries after their vehicle overturned in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate said the crash occurred near Al Mafra Bridge on the Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed Road in Al Dhafra on Wednesday evening.
All people in the vehicle were from a GCC family and were travelling towards Abu Dhabi.
Col. Mohammed Musallam Al Mahrami, director of the Al Dhafra traffic department, said initial investigations revealed that the accident resulted from sudden swerving, which caused the 4x4 vehicle to flip in the air and overturned.
All the injured persons were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Al Mahrami has urged people using highways especially during the night to park on the roadside when they feel sleepy or tired and take rest to avoid accidents.
