Travellers arriving in Dubai from Lebanon have been welcomed with flowers at the emirate's airport. In photos shared on social media, passengers could be seen receiving white roses from Dubai Customs officers.
Each flower is tagged with a quote from the UAE's beloved founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan: "The development of Lebanon is development for the UAE."
The touching gesture moved a number of travellers to tears, with some giving salutes to the officers at Dubai International Airport.
The UAE has stood in solidarity with Lebanon since massive blasts rocked its capital Beirut on August 4. The explosion killed at least 154 people, injured 5,000 and left up to 250,000 without homes.
The country's leaders offered condolences and iconic buildings lit up with the colours of the Lebanese flags. Last Wednesday, the UAE dispatched 30 tonnes of medical supplies to Beirut.
