Several Filipino workers' groups are demanding a public apology from Sondos Al Qattan - a Kuwaiti influencer who received flak for questioning the government's reforms aimed at protecting Filipino workers.
According to reports from Rappler, Migrante International demanded Al Qattan apologise for saying Filipino domestic workers shouldn't be given days off. She had also objected to rules that allow Filipino workers to keep their passports and sign work contracts aimed at giving them rights.
"We strongly demand that she offer a public apology and genuinely express remorse for her disgusting statements," said Migrante in a joint statement with Sandigan or Samahan ng mga DH sa Gitnang Silangan (Association of Domestic Helpers in the Middle East).

A politician heading a non-profit organisation aimed at protecting the rights of Filipino expats suggested that Al Qattan be banned from hiring Filipino workers.
Susan Ople, son of former senator Blas Ople is urging the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to permanently ban her from hiring Filipino help.
"By her words, publicly uttered and shared through social media, her undesirability as a foreign employer cannot be denied. She is not worthy to be even in the same room as our valiant and hardworking OFWs," Ople was quoted as saying in a Rappler report.
Other than urging the POEA to blacklist her, Ople also called on other countries who send workers to Kuwait to include the Kuwaiti social media influencer on their list of undesirable employers.
Al Qattan has not yet issued a public response after uploading the controversial post over the weekend.
