Taiwanese technology company BenQ on Wednesday unveiled its latest range of “Eyegonomic” flicker-free monitors in the UAE, which uses low blue-light technology that help reduce eye strain.

The new-generation series of Eye-care monitors — with significantly-reduced blue-light emission — come with different viewing modes with adjusted levels that create a more comfortable experience for users.

BenQ’s mobile-to-big-screen high-definition link connectivity feature also allows users to connect their smartphones to the monitors to stream a wide range of mobile content from documents to full-HD videos.

“People who work for long hours on a computer face serious issues such as discomfort and eye fatigue, and we have always kept the health of our consumers a top priority,” Manish Bakshi, managing director of BenQ Middle East and Africa, said in a statement.

“Various light sources like sunlight and fluorescent lamps are harmful to the eyes, causing macular degeneration [because of damage to the retina] or sleep disorders. With BenQ’s matte-finished screen, these monitors are designed to avoid straining of the eyes by reducing unnecessary reflection on the screen.”

BenQ’s Eye-care monitor range includes the EW2440L, GW2460HM and VL2040AZ, featuring different low blue LED light modes for multimedia, Web surfing, office, reading and anti-glare display.

Also at the launch, BenQ also highlighted its new XL Series gaming monitor. The XL270Z also has the new low blue-light feature.
