This season turned out to be no different when the Grade XI student came out with another golden show in the recent CBSE nationals at the Rishikul Vidyapeeth-Sonepat, Haryana, India.
Again, as in the previous chapters of the central meeting of the top CBSE schools in India and in the Gulf, her performance was not only outstanding, but also record breaking, at the championship in Sonepat.
Gold was hers all the way in the 50m backstroke and 200m backstroke events in the seniors section. There were more medals in store for the fast improving Dubai youngster when she won silvers in the 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly and the 100m butterfly. In the U19 category Arushee created a national with a timing of 2:43.17sec, in the 200m backstroke. This year has been particularly good for Arushee who aims to be a national level swimmer and hopefully wants to take part in the bigger events in life like the Asian meets and perhaps one day, the Olympics.
The beginning of the 2013 season saw Arushee claim the individual championship at the 44th Aquatic Championship from where she won five gold medals, one silver and two bronzes medals.
In the process, she set up two new meet records in the 50m butterfly and 100m backstroke.
She began the year showcasing her talent at the CBSE Gulf Cluster meet in Dubai where she emerged as the individual champion with six golds and one silver.
Incidentally, the budding star is the only swimmer from the UAE Cluster who has broken records in all the age categories (U12, U14/, U16 and U19) for girls at the CBSE National Swimming meets in India over the years.
