The winning pair ran up 33 points to runners-up Peter Mayne’s and Manab Kundu’s (Al Naboodah) 30 in the final count.
For the first time in this event there was a tie at the top with Al Naboodah and IBPC Sharjah finishing on 112 points.
To decide the winner, the fourth pair scores from each team were taken into consideration.
The invitation list this year consisted of Dubai Duty Free, TNT, TAS, Al Naboodah, Hyatt, IBPC Sharjah, Visa Infinite and BMW.
Each company was invited to enter a team of eight players to compete in the Pairs Betterball Stableford format with the top three pairs’ scores making up the overall team score. Finishing in third place were the only previous winners BMW, champions in 2010 and 2011. Once again the team captained by Gurbax Singh performed well and were just two points behind with a total of 110.
The Dubai Duty Free team captained by George Horan claimed fourth place two points further back on 108.
Dubai Creek Golf Club head professional Stephen Hubner said: “On behalf of Dubai Creek I would like to thank all of our corporate clients for supporting this event, and indeed for their continued support throughout the year. We very much look forward to developing all of these relationships in the future.”
