Dubai to host an ‘evening with Sachin’

A select few fans of Sachin Tendulkar will get an opportunity to spend an evening with the Indian little maestro in Dubai next month.

Tendulkar, the only batsman with 100 international hundreds, will share his personal experiences during an interactive session with selected guests at the InterContinental, Dubai Festival City, on June 9.

The event — named as ‘An Evening with Sachin Tendulkar’ — is part of the celebration series planned by FidelisWorld, a company headquartered in Dubai.

“As part of the series, we plan a six-city tour over the next three years, with the first function to be held in Dubai,” Navneet Sharma, chief executive officer of FidelisWorld told Khaleej Times.

During the function, Tendulkar, who has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha recently, will auction some personal memorabilia. The proceeds will go to charity.

“Sachin will also be presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award from Wisden India in recognition of his accomplishments as a serial centurion,” Sharma said.

“I am happy to be partnering with FidelisWorld and having an opportunity to meet my fans and supporters in the UAE through this event. I have many fond memories of playing in this country, and have always appreciated the success and support I have had here. I look forward to being in Dubai for the first stop of a six-city world tour,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying in a FidelisWorld press release.

“The black-tie affair will offer a limited number of guests the opportunity for an intimate evening of dinner and entertainment with the maestro,” the organizers said.
