Muhammad Waseem has received the support of Pakistan legend Wasim Akram ahead of his highly-anticipated return to the ring on Friday's massive #RotundaRumble2 card at Caesars Bluewater Dubai, a press release said.
Waseem (9-1, 7 KOs) goes up against former world champion Ganigan Lopez on the on the stacked #MTKFightNight promoted by D4G Promotions in association with Round 10 Boxing Club and MTK Global.
The event is live in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank, and worldwide on IFL TV, and sees Waseem looks to build on the impressive victory he secured in September when he knocked out Conrado Tanamor in 62 seconds.
He now turns his attention to Lopez, and cricketing superstar Akram has heaped praise on his countryman Waseem.
"Muhammad Waseem won his last fight in 62 seconds and I'm looking forward to seeing him hopefully win his upcoming fight," Akram said.
"He's fighting with a former world champion and I'm really proud of him. I believe he'll win this fight too and go onto be a successful champion."
Along with Pakistan hero Waseem, also featured on Friday's huge bill are world-ranked Jack Catterall, fast-rising British star Thomas Patrick Ward, Indian star Vijender Singh, Kazakhstan sensation Abilkhaiyr Shegaliyev and Irish favourite Rohan Date.
