The promotional campaign after a series of events recently will see the Forum being organised in Dubai for the first time on the April 23 and 24.
Apart from this, table tennis players residing here can look forward to an open event immediately, also part of the Peace drive, in Dubai this weekend.
The Forum will be hosted by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) in collaboration with the international Peace and Sports Organisation under the banner of ‘Together through sports… we can achieve sustainable peace’, a media communiqué from the organisers stated.
During the event, 15 female and 12 junior jockeys (below 12 years of age) undertook a desert horseback ride in the Khawaneej and Al Warqa region, raising both the Emirati Flag and the Peace and Sports Dubai Forum Banner in an atmosphere of history and pride, as horseback riding is considered the sport of ancestors that is deeply rooted in both heritage and future generations.
The A’ayan horse riding club for women and children is considered one of the most successful equestrian training schools in the region with over 200 active trainees, both females and juniors -below 12 years of age. The club offers a range of training courses from basic horseback riding, to introduction to equestrianism, as well as dealing and caring for horses and other equestrian essentials.
The club is also heavily involved in the preparation of both trainers and riders for endurance horse races. Meanwhile, the preparations for the Table Tennis Expat Cup continued, organisers DSC said.
The event to be held jointly with the UAE Table Tennis Federation begins on Friday (5am-5pm) at the Midriff City Centre with over 200 players from various nationalities.
The expat cup is also part of the promotional campaign of the Peace and Sports Dubai Forum which is being administered by the Forum organising committee and has to date included the completion of the record winning Peace Dove Button Mosaic, as well as a government and private school art competition which will run to the beginning of April alongside a number of Peace and Sport Workshop that will also be taking place in various schools and universities in and around Dubai.
