Sharjah landed their second successive win as they chalked out a 4-0 win over Al Wasl at the Sharjah Stadium in the Arabian Gulf Cup on Saturday.
In other matches, Jhonnattann Benites netted the only goal of the game as Fujairah edged Hatta 1-0 while Shabab Al Ahli suffered 2-0 loss against Al Dhafra at Rashid Stadium in matchweek 4 on Saturday.
In the Sharjah-Wasl encounter, the first real chance of the game fell to Sharjah on the quarter-hour mark when Khams Esmaeel's effort went above the bar, AGL website reported.
Three minutes later, Tariq Al Khaddeim opened the scoring for the home side. His powerful strike from inside the box hit the woodwork before nestling into the back of the net to put the hosts 1-0 up.
Just before the break, Sharjah almost made it 2-0 but Mohamed Khalfan's bicycle kick was saved by Al Wasl keeper Humaid Al Najar.
Just two minutes after one-hour mark, Hamad Jasim doubled Sharjah's lead. The 23-year-old defender got at the end of an inch-perfect cross from Mohammed Abdulbasit, and the former headed the ball past Al Najar.
Only two minutes later, Omar Jumaa further extended the hosts lead and netted the third of the night. Sharjah launched a perfect counter-attack that saw the ball fall to Jumaa inside the box, and the 24-year-old tapped the ball it into the bottom corner of the net.
In the third minutes of injury time, Al Wasl were reduced to 10 men after Esmaeel was shown the red card for a dangerous play against Abdulbasit.
Sharjah then added a fourth goal deep into injury time. Rafael dos Santos found Marcus Vinicius' pass and burst into the box before slotting the ball past Al Najar.
The King now move to third place in Group B on six points, while Al Wasl, who fell to their second defeat in a row, are fifth on three points.
