Dubai Economy has launched the latest version of its ‘EngageDXB’ smart application with the goal of accelerating digital adoption across business in the emirate and facilitating communication between the public and private sectors, particularly amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 crisis.
Created by Dubai Economy as a platform for business associations, EngageDXB has evolved into a central point of communication between the public and private sector, also accessible to anyone outside the UAE looking for business opportunities in Dubai. The latest version of EngageDXB will support enhanced online engagement and counter the restrictions created by the pandemic.
Although it restricted physical interaction, the pandemic has provided a reality check for businesses to embrace digitalisation and accelerate their digital adoption on the other hand. With more people and businesses being present online it has become critical for the government to be in the online space and become accessible to all.
As a business matchmaking platform, EngageDXB will facilitate engagement and collaboration between the international and local business community to benefit local businesses and the economy in Dubai. The app provides users with access to key business leaders and government changemakers. Users can now register on the application in one step using UAE Pass. The latest version comes with an enhanced networking experience for users.
The Events feature in the latest version of the app will allow users to attend physical and virtual events as well as organise their own. Meanwhile, the Careers feature in the app has been updated to give job seekers and freelancers more visibility, especially in the local UAE job market. EngageDXB has also partnered with ‘Dubai Careers,’ a Smart Dubai exclusive platform, to promote public sector job opportunities and help individuals to seek their ideal jobs. It will also enable government employers to find the right talent and support Emiratisation.
The ‘Idea Pooling and Polls’ feature in the app serves as a feedback mechanism for all UAE residents to share their ideas on the latest initiatives from the public and private sectors. EngageDXB has also partnered with Tejari, one of the largest government procurement portals, to create awareness among businesses on the latest government projects and initiatives.
Mohammed Shael Al Saadi, CEO of the Corporate Strategic Affairs sector in Dubai Economy commented: “EngageDXB is a significant initiative, especially in post COVID-19 world, as it will facilitate communication and collaboration during these challenging times, from liaising with government authorities, investors and business partners to sharing your feedback and ideas. It will be a virtual business hub at your fingertips for all your business needs. We look forward to engaging with all residents and citizens through this application.”
Engineer Saed Al Awadi, CEO of Dubai Exports, an Agency of Dubai Economy, added: “Through EngageDXB, local suppliers and exporters in this region can connect with us. Local suppliers seeking to extend their market reach can connect with our member exporters listed on the application to build partnerships, export products and services, and enter international markets.”
Going forward, EngageDXB will add more features to enhance the app experience for users and improve all the services. EngageDXB is now available on the Google Play store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.
