Dubai: The Support Services Centre, or SSC, which is part of the Government of Dubai’s Department of Finance, and the Dispute Resolution Authority, or DRA, have signed a Service-Level Agreement, or SLA, that enables the availability of a number of corporate support services.
As per the agreement, the SSC will provide back office and operational support services. The DRA consists of the DIFC Courts, Wills and Probate Registry, the Academy programme, the Arbitration Institute, and all other committees or subsidiary bodies established under the DIFC laws and regulations.
Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Director General of the Department of Finance, DoF, and Michael Hwang, Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts, and head of DRA, signed the agreement in the presence of Mohammed Hamad Al Shehi, Deputy Director General of DoF; Mubarak Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director of SSC; Mark Beer, CEO and Registrar of the DIFC Courts; Amna Al Owais, Deputy Registrar & Deputy CEO of the DIFC Courts; and Reem Al Shehi, COO of the DIFC Courts.
Al Saleh said the SSC is proud of the confidence the DRA has placed in the centre’s ability to supply the required services to DRA, which plays a key role in settling Dubai’s civil and commercial disputes. He said that the SSC has a unique business model for the wise management of public resources that enabled the SSC to save millions of dirhams for several government entities by sourcing the procurement, payroll and human resource services among others to the centre.
“The SSC is like an incubator that offers emerging, small and medium government entities valuable services in human resources, payroll, accounting and procurement, resulting in integrated, streamlined and efficient support and assistance, in line with the highest national and international standards and best international practices in government work,” said Al Saleh.
Hwang said the agreement is a significant step in the ongoing development of the DRA. “Renowned for quality, accuracy and efficiency, the SSC will be a key partner for the DRA as we look to support Dubai’s economic ambitions in the run up to 2021.”
“The SSC has been adroitly offering expedited, accurate institutional support services to more than twenty Dubai Government entities. The DRA is most welcome to join our select group of customers, hoping that this SLA becomes an enabling factor for the DRA to achieve its goals,” said Al Shamsi, reaffirming the SSC’s keen interest in establishing a close relationship with the DRA and contributing to its success.
The SSC is the only government body that provides emerging, small and medium government entities with institutional support according to the highest standards and best practices, ensuring that they have a solid base to fulfil their tasks and responsibilities in keeping with the required quality level. The centre’s mission is to provide excellent services by applying the ‘one point of contact’ methodology and advanced systems and solutions, while maintaining continuum in measuring the quality of the services offered to customers and enhancing its performance.
