The United States has stated that it seeks peace with Iran, and has made clear it is not seeking regime change in Tehran. In any serious conflict, the cost to Iran would be monumental. Reality is that Iran does not have any allies or friends. Russia will not intervene to save Iran, it lacks the military capability to prevent escalation. Iran must change course and adopt and implement a pragmatic foreign policy, that will restore its place amongst the world community of nations. President Trump is a realistic and pragmatic leader who is prepared to talk to the Iranian leadership. Let Iran seize the opportunity, and chart a positive course for its beleaguered people and for genuine peace for all of mankind.
Confrontation and brinkmanship will not resolve the issues at stake. Attacking or sabotaging oil tankers is a clear violation of international maritime law. War and killing shatters speech and ends communication, isolating us into different dimensions.
